New Ventures

This month I have been spreading myself around the Magazine Racks a little.  I was lucky enough to supply the glass wishes for a project that was featured in "Beads and Beyond" after meeting the talented Victoria Fisher via facebook.  She created a couple of beautiful pieces and I was very proud to be involved in this.

My glassware plates also featured in the Stamford Living magazine whilst on display in Elliots of Stamford.  The photo looked fab and the dinner set was soon snapped up by a lovely customer.

I have now also been invited to sell with Acolyte Home and Gifts which is a beautiful website full of amazing artists creating gorgeous products ranging from beautiful Driftwood products to hand made chocolates that look too good to eat.  I have designed (and am still in the process of designing) two ranges exclusive to Acoloyte called Monaco and Manhatten.  Take a look and go to www.acolytehomeandgifts.com to see what they have to offer and to look at my range.

Now back to the workshop as have four sets of valentine coasters to make this morning.  It's a crisp morning out there but I will soon be toasty.

Is in the WORKSHOP

Is it really three months since I last updated my blog?  I am now spending a few minutes catching up with you guys whilst drinking a quick cup of tea before the madness of the day begins.

November has simply been the most BUSY month I've ever had.  I've had orders for several clocks, a sack load of decorations, coasters by the truck load and a steady flow of huge plates (mostly Christmas related) .... and the orders are still coming which is fantastic.

I have almost been here for two years now and it just gets better and better and I still pride myself on NO postage breakages and NO complaints!  My return customer percentage is high and FUNKY GLASS has also been great for getting my product out there.

I will continue to make Christmas orders until the very last posting day, so please contact me with any orders asap..... I'm looking forward to locking the workshop for a week at Christmas but until then ..... Back to business.

Hugs L x

Christmas!!!!!!!!

Yes.... I'm not going mad!  I am thinking of Christmas already.  Today I made my first decorations.  This year they are bigger and better as they come with a pre drilled hole rather than a metal hanging... much more attractive!.  First dec is a Christmas Pudding... take a look and give me your thoughts.  I'm really pleased with it.  Back in the workshop today to make a new batch of snowmen and Christmas Trees so watch this space.

The rain is pouring in Peterborough today, so will be nice and cozy with the kiln on (this will get me in the Christmas mood lol).

Pop back soon for a browse.  I now have a "shopping cart" so you can all pay when you buy... happy shopping guys... Hugs xxxx

Where is Summer?

It's been a while since I last blogged... but I'm still here :)  Just back from two weeks doing absolutely nothing on the beautiful island of Kefalonia... one of my favourite places in the world.

So now, rested and ready for more work in the workshop.  I am now making glass to display in Mark Elliots, Stamford and Cheltenham which is fab.  I am also selling on Funky Glass website which has some really great designers and now also working with a lovely "beading expert" supplying glass for her tutorial for a bead magazine....

So as you can see, it's all go here.  I'm also looking forward to finally getting a new and much bigger kiln, so I can get oudles more lovely glass cooking at once....

Watch this space ..... Lou xxx

Happy Easter Everyone....

Hoping that all you lovely people out there are having a fabulous Easter break.  The sun has been shining and I can smell BBQ's everywhere I go.  I've been buzzing around on my Vespa and enjoying the sunshine too this week.  Also I have been working on producing a lovely Fused Glass Topped Coffee Table... see facebook page "Lou's little wishes and designs" for the first pics ... next is to stain the wood and fix decorative leg brackets to give it a fantastic look.  Keep in touch to see the finished product.....

And have an EGG-cellent day :) xxx

BACK FROM BOARDING and BACK IN THE WORKSHOP

What a fantastic week me and hubby had on the slopes.  The snow was perfect powder and no injuries at all this year :)

Back now in the workshop and getting busy on a range of Mother's Day gifts.  Will be making gorgeous bedside clocks in sparkly spring colours perfect for that 'special mum.'

Also keep checking the website for other new gifts.  The business is really taking off now, so try and give me a little notice for your orders.

Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Went the Little Old Clock...

I've really enjoyed the new challenge of making clocks.  I've got a couple on the website and a couple of orders already.  However, this will take some getting used to, as the drilling of the hole can be a bit tricky.... On Saturday I made an amazing white clock with a glossy heart sunk into the middle... when I started drilling.... CRACK!  I was gutted.   I guess it's going to happen, but practice makes perfect... so keep "clocking in" to see my new designs as they come.  Almost time for a "snowboarding break", will keep you posted when I'm away...  Please email if you have any ideas or requests.... L xxx

New Year .... New Challenges .... New Glass

Happy New Year to all my Sparkly Customers.  What a fantastic year 2010 has been.  In my first year of starting my little business I have really had fun and enjoyed every moment.  I still get excited in the morning, rushing to see what is waiting for me in the kiln.

This year hopefully will see the business grow now that I am making and selling bigger and different gift ideas.  Coming soon will be the arrival of CLOCKS which I am really excited about... Just waiting for the super dooper drill to turn up to enable me to cut through the glass.

Also Bigger and better plates are on offer with some stunning designs that even impress me!  And I make them :)

So keep popping back for new ideas for Valentine's Day, Mothers Day or just any gift ideas.

I also have a new little helper in the workshop... my Black Lab Puppy STANLEY comes and keeps me company which is great.  Ok... he eats the carpet, boxes and bubble wrap... but he is cute.   L xxx

CHRISTMAS TIME

Well the orders are starting to come in now and lots of Decorations are being ordered.  Please get your orders in asap to allow plenty of time.  I have a couple of parties coming up at the request of friends and also a couple of craft fairs.  One being at Stanground College on 27th November so hoping to sell lots of my glossey goodies.

Pop over to look at the facebook page "Lou's little wishes and designs" for latest pictures, ideas and free giveaways.

And drop me a line if you have any custom made ideas.  I'm here to help and here to create something beautiful for you .....

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN AND FRIENDS

I hope you have all now seen my new Christmas Decorations on the website.  I'm loving "Frosty the Snowman" and still love that feeling of opening the kiln and seeing how they look.  I've sold over 50 so far and I know that they are going to make the best Christmas Trees around.

Remember that if you want something personal... just drop me a mail. Most items can be personalised in one way or another.  I also now have a 12inch plate mould so huge plates are coming to the website soon.

85 DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS

I know and I'm sorry, but I am preparing myself for the biggest countdown to Christmas I have ever had.  Orders are flying in for the Christmas Decorations and everyone seems to love them.  Take a look at new designs coming on the website every day.

Also check out the facebook page "Lou's little wishes" for free giveaways and up to date offers.

Finally... get your orders in asap for Christmas.  Remember I can change colours or personalise gifts to create that amazing gift.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY

Hi everyone.  Just a quick update as I've been slacking on my blog lately.  Since the launch of the FACEBOOK PAGE "Lou's little wishes and designs" the orders have been flying in.  I have even just posted off two name plates for a lady in Barcelona... so now I feel really INTERNATIONAL.  Also orders are coming in for the Xmas decorations so my kiln is on FULL STEAM AHEAD!

I am having a break next week so any orders after Friday will be dealt with on my return on 28th September.  If however, you have an urgent order.  Still drop me an email and if it's in stock I do have a willing assistant that will help :)  Okay... back to the workshop for me now as still got a set of coasters to make for a christmas order.  Take care L xxx

IS IT TOO EARLY TO MENTION CHRISTMAS?

Ok... maybe it is a bit early, but this week I have been experimenting with different Christmas Decoration ideas.  I have some sparkle dust that I am putting in between the glass which is looking super.  I will have them on the website as soon as I can.  I also now have a new facebook page.... just search for "Lou's little wishes and designs" and see up to date photos, ideas and "The Little Wish Quote Of The Day".... (oh and make sure you "LIKE" me).  I have also been busy this week making special personalised "Little Wishes" for two weddings... They make super favours for a special day.  Just ask for information. See you all soon xxx

Summer Holiday

Summer is finally here (on and off), and I hope you are all enjoying soaking up the sun.  My workshop is very hot this time of the year and as I work, I have the company of my Guinea Pigs who live next door and chirp along to me all day (I do quite possibly have the Fatttest Guinea Pig in the world!)  I am about to have a holiday,  although I do have a reliable assistant who will send out orders should you need anything urgently.  Any custom made orders or any out of stock items, I will sort out on my return.  Then, it's all hands on deck on the run down to Christmas.... yes... I did say the C word.  Take care everyone and see you soon. L

Summer is Coming

Now summer is on it's way, I am getting lots of orders for window hangings which look gorgeous when the sun shines through them.  Also I have had a few requests for "WORLD CUP COASTERS" including the England Flag and the Italian Flag. My little wishes are getting really popular and are still warm whilst I am wrapping them in ribbon.  I have sold a lot as wedding favours and I think this is a great idea.  All my friends have one and all of them keep them in their purses for luck... They feel so smooth to touch and I think that EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE ONE.  If you haven't got yours... order it soon . Lxxx

We do like to be beside the seaside

Hi everyone.  I am definately getting that Summer Feeling.  I am just working on my new range of Wall Hangings, which will include beach huts and camper vans.  Also I am working on a new colourful range of plates and coasters and also some wall art.  Keep checking back and don't forget, if you like it but fancy another colour.... Just drop me a line. Lxxx

Getting that Spring feeling

Well Valentine's Day came and went and I'm almost sold out of hearts.  I even had a few last min orders that had to be hand delivered just in time for the big day.  Thank you to everyone for your orders and fantastic feedback.  Now looking towards "Mothers Day" which is on March 14th this year.  I'm thinking butterflies and dragonflies which are symbolic of "New Life and New Beginnings".... the perfect gift for Mothers. Back to my workshop.... at least it's getting warmer now. I may even slip one in Mr C's wallet. L xxx

Busy Busy Busy

Very busy at the moment making glass for a stand I have at a large call center in Peterborough.  I am also donating 10% of my takings to the NSPCC, so a good cause all round.  Every desk needs an Iridescent Coaster, don't you think?  I also have my first order from a fantaistic gift shop in Stamford and am working hard to complete that.  Everything is going really well and the website is very busy with visitors.  Please leave me a message and let me know what you think of the designs.  Roll on Valentine's Day... Love is in the air ..... L xxx

A Month till Valentine's Day

Half way through Jan already and I am busy making my Valentine Collection.  More plates have been added with the addition of a tiny tiny ring plate.  Small and affordable, the ideal gift to slip into a Valentines Card.  I am also working on 8in plates which will be coming soon.  I hope after all this effort, I myself get a nice little gift off Mr C.  Well here's hoping lol. L xxx

Brrrrrr more snow

More Snow today but I braved the workshop to make a new selection of Window Gems which I have now put on the website.  I love them and even have one hanging in my window lol.  Let me know what you think.  Any feedback is fantastic.  I have also been leaflet dropping around my village to try and raise awareness of my website.  So please let me know if you found my site via a leaflet so I know all that walking wasn't wasted... especially as I nearly went flying last night on the ice and was only saved by a nearby hedge. Speak soon. L xxx
